Well next week is more work on backin vocals and tweeking stuff, i must also mention the genius that is Greg my producer, who has done and incredible job and it's great to have someone who is on the same wavelength with what im looking for. We're planning to do some video blogs and also photos from the studio on here soon!

Finally, i must thank you from the bottom of my heart (cheesy i know) for all your support and also to those who donated, it really is a massive help.

14th May 2010

second songs now pretty much finished, have had loads of fun with the second track and now looking forward to getting on to another song (im so impatient) but we're now discovering the sound and style ive been longing for which im really happy with. Im hoping to get all the tracks completed by the end of the year and also got to start thinking of album names which will be a nightmare, so if you have any suggestions, drop me an email! We are planning to do some video blogs on here, but i need to give Greg (my producer) advanced warning so he can get his hair just perfect haha! Well... and me... lol, but yeah the video blogs will come shortly and maybe, just maybe some snippets of what we've been doing! Thats all for now!

12th May 2010

I burst into the studio today, all excited to be working on a new song! Greg and myself started by writing a brand spankin new song which is full of energy and very 'me'. So my task for next week is to get some lyrics down, I'm really excited about this one, i know for a fact you'll like it! Three songs are now pretty much complete now but still a long way to go, so keep up all the wonderful support!

I want to thank everyone at my gigs in the last couple of weeks who have gave me fantastic feedback about one of the new songs from the album which I performed. It gives me such a buzz and is really emotional to perform a new song which i've wrote.

Until next time . . .

2nd June 2010

First off, Happppy Birthday to Greg, spending half his birthday in the Studio, better be a good session!! Im pleased to say it was. Starting on a new song, one of the most recent songs i've wrote. Greg done a fantastic job with his guitar & keyboard skills and also Tyler was class act on drums as always!  The main aim of the session today was to get a rough track down coming up with ideas and basically creating a track on which we can build on. It's kinda like building a house, you start with foundations then add all the brickwork, and the near the finish you decorate and add all the ornamental features!

8th June 2010

I got completley soaked on way to studio today but once i dryed off and had a cup of tea we got down to working on the new track. We mainly focused on orchestral parts today,  as you can imagine this does take a wee while but when its all mixed and complete it will sound fantastic! Next week we should be recording vocals for the track. This is one of my favortie songs so far i think and i cant wait to perform it live!

22nd June 2010

Love this part of recording, process, when the track comes together. This week we're finishing off the fifth song. We mainly concentrated on recording and going over vocals today, which is a lot of fun  coming up with ideas  and can also be frustrating. When we first record a rough version of the track, we put down a 'guide' vocal which basically just gives an idea of how the song is going to be, and then we return to redo the vocals, and sometimes we can use parts of the guide vocal.  So next week we move on to the 6th song of the album.

29th June 2010

A had a spring in my step as I strolled through glasgow with my guitar. Starting the sixth song on the album. We had a few things to tidy up on the last song first, before i pitched the song to Greg my producer. Six songs in and i am starting to deveop my own sound which is brilliant! Today we mainly recorded drums & guitars which takes a bit of time but we have a rough idea of how we want this track to go and over the next few weeks we'll develop that into the full track.

6th July 2010

Week two of the sixth song (starting to sound like big brother.. oh dear) anyway.. today was about adding more to the track, coming up with ideas, adjusting & teaking bits a pieces. Last week we got the bones of the track and now we add the muscle & ligaments. Its now starting to take shape and very rock but today we added more electro parts, using Synths & various other weird & wonderful tools Greg comes up with! I also layed down a rough (very) guide vocal, voice is a bit tired from the weekend but we got a rough idea of how the melody fits in, and also wrote a new ending for the song as well. I know i say it a lot but honestly i can't believe how well the tracks we're roadtesting at gigs are going down! its a very promising sign and thankyou for allowing me to try them out!

13th July 2010

Sorted out all the lead vocals on the 6th song, its a case of me and greg going through the song quite a few times, working out what works best and also layering on harmonies which i quite enjoy, was pretty worried about doing harmonies in the first place because ive always been a lead singer so ive avioided doing harmonies, last time I probley sang harmonies was at high school.  I acually dreaded doing the backing vocals but Greg has been fantasic and we've had great fun doing them!

23rd July 2010

A rare friday session today. Today was all about finishing the sixth song. Greg added a few guitar parts, he done a great job considering he was in agony with his sore hand.  It was then a case of mixing the track which Greg done a fantastic job of, really pleased with this song, gonna be a great one to perform live and also perfect on the album. Its a song that means a lot to me personally as well which makes it even more special to me. This weekend, we hope to start performing the new track so come along for a sneak preview!! Next blog on Tuesday, see you then!

27th July 2010

I've got to say i am getting better at walking up that massive hill to the studios now, i'll post a photo next time, it's pretty much near verticle, but on the bright side it does get me in the fighting spirit today, ready and raring to start a new song which is always an exciting week. This song is the most recent i've wrote and is a sort of sequel to 'Streets Of Suburbia'. I hate writing this blog cos i want tell you every little detail but i do want to save some surprises too for the album. Im sure your going to enjoy this track though, it's different to the rest of the material we've recorded so far but in a good way. Next week tune in to find out what fun and frollics Greg and myself get up to! Cya!!

3rd & 10th August 2010

well with suburbia part 2 finished and sounding super, we wondered what to do next! Started playing about with a few ideas but finally settled on writing a song that will definatly be a single on the album. It's a very emotional song but a song about moving on, which I can relate to. Greg done most of the hard work on this song, still need lyrics for verse two, so answers on a postcard please!

17th August 2010

This week we were joined in the studio by none other than my good friend and sound engineer barrie who was curious to see what goes on! Had a really great session today, the song has totally developed from last week now sounding alot more rocky and also we have all the lyrics down which helps! Greg added more synth parts as well as a few extra beefy guitars too. At the end of the session i added a rough guide vocal then we all went for a well earned baugette (how ever your spell it), see ya next week!

24th August 2010

Done mostly lead vocals on the track and also backing vocals, really love this track, so its petty much finished and just a bit of final mixing to be done next week. Greg and I also discussed a plan of acition for when the album is finished. The plan is to go to London and pitch the songs to major record labels such as Mercury & Island records etc, so its going to be very exciting and with each song thats completed it's getting closer.

31st August 2010 latest

Last day of August and we got to work tweeking and finishing off the eighth song, its sounding incredible & full of emotion. So once we completed the mixing we started a new song. Greg came up with a great piano part and he added a few basic guitars and bass, so homework for next week, i need to provide lyrics and melody which im so excitd about doing for this song, it's sounding so strong already. Finally must say a massive weldone to fellow artiste GeO who was supporting Aleshia Dixon in Hamilton last Friday!!
